ABOUT THE INSPECTOR
Mike often says that he started training for this job at the age of six!
His dad was a Master Plumber and his stepdad was a general contractor, so he spent a lot of time on construction sites assisting the experts with plumbing, electrical, framing, roofing, and even solar collector installations during Houston summers. Those early learning experiences laid the foundation for a life-long interest in construction and understanding what makes a home function properly. He has remodeled several of his own homes, helped others build homes from the ground up, and gained exposure to just about every system in a home through hands-on experience.
Mike spent many years in the semiconductor industry building and leading the teams that built the company while honing his communication, negotiation, customer service and analytical skills. These skills prove invaluable in report writing and educating clients about the condition of their investment.
After leaving the technology space, Mike was looking for a field that he is passionate about that would allow him to pursue opportunities to serve others and devote more time to ministry. From the first day of home inspection field practicums, he was hooked!
Mike is an American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT) graduate, InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, and prioritizes continuing education to understand the latest standards, materials and systems for commercial and residential construction.
He's also a bit of a “nerd”, researching and utilizing technology to deliver an enhanced inspection experience, from scheduling through report delivery. Just ask his family!
When not inspecting, Mike is passionate about ministry alongside his wife of 25+ years, working in prison ministry, homeless ministry, and volunteering with at-risk communities. He and Vicky also spend many weekends playing board games with their children and grandchildren.

THE BRAINS BEHIND THE OPERATION

Vicky McCown is the behind-the-scenes guru. After fifteen years in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant and HR Manager, Vicky spent ten years in the public school system as the Principal's Secretary and High School Registrar. Wanting to be in ministry, Vicky left the school district and began managing roles in the food pantry and homeless ministry. Several years later, they moved to Canyon Lake to be closer to their grandchildren.
Starting this business has allowed her the opportunity to help care for her grandchildren and support Mike in their small business. Her years of experience in administration and working with the public has provided her with the tools and knowledge to be a great business partner. Her organization skills, creativity, keen attention to detail and passion for serving others ensures that we can provide the best possible service to our clients and referral partners.
